For the past 17 years, the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Parham has produced the popular, highly anticipated and well-loved event, “Summer Gospel Fest”. This virtual event took place on Sunday, August 01, 2021 under the theme, “Let’s Give Him Our Highest Praise”. Although some may refer to it as a concert, it is in fact a divine worship experience.
Initially, the aim of Summer Gospel Fest 2021 was to share the good news of Jesus in a purely musical way. However, the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Parham has recognized the importance of its social responsibility to its community. As a result, this summer festival has metamorphosed into one in which giving back to the community is paramount. The charitable deeds were in the forms of care packages and financial contributions.
This year, our second virtual experience was indeed a blessing! In it, one was able to experience sweet, smooth heavenly music, harmonious singing which healed the mind, body and soul! It was aired on several social media platforms to include the Parham SDA Church YouTube Channel, The SLC YouTube Channel, SLC Facebook as well as Second Advent Radio Ministries which expanded our reach, ultimately to one which resulted in an international online viewership from the Eastern Caribbean, British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Canada, India, Kenya-Africa and the U.S.A.
Summer Gospel Fest 2021 featured local artists, including: St. John’s Praise Family, Anointed Praise, God’s New Generation, and the Parham S.D.A Steel Pan Orchestra, while regional artists included ‘For Him’ (West Jamaica Conference) and Praise Adonai Ministries (British Virgin Islands).
The highlight of the event was the featured guest artist, Sharilyn Sayles from Jamaica. She contributed to the worship experience with powerful singing and a mixture of soul-stirring testimonies of how God moved in her life. Moreover, the viewership was moved and excited by the guest performance from her husband, regionally renowned gospel artist, Carey Sayles. He brought the curtain down with a melody of Jamaican Reggae Gospel.
The Parham “Summer Gospel Fest 2021” was an extraordinary worship experience that continues to improve year after year! The Church looks forward to a bigger and better worship experience in 2022. Until then, “Let’s Give Him Our Highest Praise!”
