A one day, in-person, powerful and inspiring women’s seminar under the theme “All About Me” organized by Faith in Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church in St. Kitts, took place on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the Solid Waste Management Co-operation conference room in St. Kitts.
The day began with “My Health in Numbers”, an optional free health check done by medical professionals of the Ministry of Health. This seminar that attracted over 50 women from various walks of life, within and outside the church, was the first of its kind during this time of the pandemic. It featured a variety of elements such as special prayers and praises, a devotion, presentations from dynamic speakers and many other exciting features.
The featured guest devotional speaker was Pastor Kay White, Women’s Ministries director of the South Leeward Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Pastor White ministered to the audience virtually. Her eloquent and powerful devotional feature, from Galatians 2:20, challenged the women to crucify those things that are hindering them from progressing and living a life for God. According to Pastor Kay White, crucifixion is a painful process, nevertheless through Christ, we should lay down all the things that are stopping us from attaining what God wants for us.
The Women’s Ministries leader of the Faith in Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church, Sis Novelia Rawlins-Nwosu, said that the “ALL ABOUT ME” Women’s Seminar is actually all about God. She echoed to the ladies that at this time they should put God at the center their lives, give Him first place and let Him guide and lead in all things, especially at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to her, “Indeed, it is not about me or you but it is all about Him- God.”
The participants at the spirit-filled seminar were bursting with excitement, vibrant energy and enthusiasm. The women were thrilled and blessed with life-changing and mind-blowing presentations from professional career women of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Topics such as Money Matters, A Balance Mind, Vision Board Creating and Feminine Maturity were covered. The women were fully engaged in Q&A in-between presenters with a ‘spin the wheel’ feature where wonderful prizes such as fitbits, wireless headphones, household and skin care items were won. The women also received tips and demonstrations through the use of home-made skin-care products specifically for hands and feet. This aspect was dubbed “Beautiful Hands & Feet for Life”. They were also able to select from a variety of free items in a designated area called the “Beauty Shop”. In addition to all the food for thought presentations, a healthy fruit snack and lunch were prepared and enjoyed by all.
Indeed, the “All About Me” women’s seminar was a wonderful experience and celebration for the participants, as it marked the first time the Adventist Women met in such a setting for fellowship under the COVID-19 protocols. Some of the participants testified that the seminar has not only transformed their lives but has renewed their commitment to God. Many have expressed that “All About Me” should be an annual convocation for all the women as a means of empowerment and spiritual development.
