Whoever said that you can’t have fun during the pandemic clearly never met the Adventurers. The virtual Adventurers Game’s Night, hosted by the Antigua Adventurers, really showed that there is no truth to that statement. On September 4, 2021, the Antigua Adventurers and the St. Kitts Adventurers came together for an awesome and memorable night of games, riddles, Bible-based challenges and wholesome laughter.
Although it was wet and cold due to the inclement weather in some parts of Antigua and St. Kitts, the weather could do little to rain on the parade of fun and excitement in the recently concluded game’s night. The game’s night was the brainchild of island coordinator, Kerneice Galloway, and her team of assistant island and area coordinators.
The evening commenced with devotion by island coordinator, Maribaine Romeo. Following that, there was a wide array of games to choose from that would have titillated the diverse interests of the Adventurers and the adults. There was no age group that didn’t have a part to play in this exciting evening.
Assistant island coordinator, Tarsha Henry, hosted the scavenger hunt and had the children, and adults scampering for rulers, shoes, keys and other household items. This scavenger hunt, however, was done with a twist. The Adventurers first had to decipher amazing clues before rushing off to display the retrieved items. Immediately thereafter, drill sergeant, Steve Watson, led out in the jokes and riddles section. This section was engaging as the Adventurers had to put on their thinking caps to find the answers.
No Adventurers game’s night should be complete without fun games geared towards reinforcing biblical principles. Thus, the evening was capped off by three wonderful games: “Adventurer Kahoot”, hosted by the Antigua island coordinator, which quizzed the Adventurers on the story of David as found in the first book of Samuel, as well as “The Climb” hosted by area coordinator, Calesia Thibou, which engaged the Adventurers and their parents in an online race based on Bible knowledge. Finally, the game's night concluded with a game of “Bible Charades” hosted by assistant island coordinator, Loy Weste, where the Adventurers unmuted their microphones and shouted with abandon the names of the Bible characters, based on clues provided to them.
These days, there are so many reasons for persons to be separated, but on September 4, 2021, the Antigua and St. Kitts Adventurers formed lifelong bonds playing at the virtual game’s night. The Adventurers eagerly anticipate the time where they can safely return to face-to-face fun activities.
In the interim, however, the Adventurers Youth leaders will remain committed to providing a wholesome, godly and safe atmosphere for fun, friendship and fellowship as the club continues to prepare the children for the kingdom of God.
